Workshop: Overview of Student Learning Assessment (Kathmandu)

Background

A three-day workshop jointly organized by UNESCO Bangkok and UNESCO Kathmandu from 4 to 6 November explored how using well-crafted performance assessments can powerfully affect teachers and learning.

“In order to ensure quality education for all, the Government of Nepal has given high priority to student assessment at national level. This workshop provided an opportunity to review national and international assessments in order to enhance the efficiency of test construction and data analysis in Nepal,” Lekha Nath Poudel, Joint Secretary of Education Review Office (ERO) explained.

The workshop was organized in the framework of the Network on Education Quality Monitoring in the Asia-Pacific (NEQMAP), coordinated by UNESCO Bangkok. The workshop was organized upon the request of ERO as a NEQMAP national technical assistance activity.
