On 30 May 2023, NEQMAP held a knowledge-sharing webinar on “Tools and methodologies for the comparative analysis of assessment systems.” The digital event, hosted via Zoom from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm (GMT+7/Bangkok time), shed light on techniques and tools for reviewing assessment systems.
The session kicked off with a valuable presentation by Ursula Schwantner, Director at the Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Centre, and Ramya Vivekanandan, a Senior Education Specialist at the Global Partnership for Education (GPE). They focused on the importance of analysing national learning assessment systems to create a potent evidence base on student learning.
Following their in-depth discourse, Huong Le Thu, Education Specialist at UNESCO, and Erin Euiryeong Jeong, Consultant at UNESCO, took over the platform. Their presentation, entitled “Learning Assessment Data Speaks,” enriched the understanding of how to harness and interpret assessment data effectively for more impactful educational decisions.

Towards the end, Soumaya Maghnouj from the NEQMAP Secretariat provided a sneak peek into the upcoming updates to the NEQMAP Assessment Database. Her briefing added anticipation for future developments and improvements within the system.
Finally, the webinar concluded with a brief overview of upcoming NEQMAP events, and an appreciative closing statement acknowledging the participation and engagement of all attendees.
