The fifth Knowledge Innovation Exchange (KIX) Europe | Asia | Pacific (EAP) Webinar will cover the topic of « Curriculum implementation: competency-based learning and the alignment of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment ». The webinar is organised by NORRAG and facilitated by the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Education in Bangkok, KIX EAP strategic partner. The webinar will be conducted in English with interpretation into Arabic and Russian.
Trends in education reform efforts across Asia and Pacific demonstrate a drive to adapt education systems to meet today’s demands for ‘21st century’ skills or competencies (inclusive of knowledge, skills, attitudes and values). As a result, countries worldwide are reviewing and revising their learning goals, and these learning goals are no longer focused on knowledge alone – they also examine how we use knowledge and build knowledge.
As part of the KIX EAP Webinar series, the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Education in Bangkok and the NEQMAP Secretariat are pleased to share some concrete examples of how this shift in learning goals is being met by different countries. It is an opportunity for countries and education stakeholders to share their experiences and to learn about promising practices that can strengthen the implementation of competency-based learning frameworks.
