The COVID-19 pandemic has severely impacted all areas of life. An increased reliance on home educational resources have caused substantial disruptions to learning for many children and are exacerbating learning inequities. The ambitious education goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda are threatened by nationwide and localised school closures around the world.
The Monitoring Impacts on Learning Outcomes (MILO) project has examined reading and mathematics outcomes in 6 countries in Africa, in order to capture the effect of COVID-19 on learning and to evaluate the effectiveness of distance learning mechanisms implemented during school closures.
The webinar will:
- present the Monitoring Impacts on Learning Outcomes (MILO) project methodologies and pilot activities held in 2021;
- give the perspective of the pilot countries
- give an overview of the SDG learning proficiency values and trends in Africa
- discuss important questions around measurement accuracy
Date: 21 January 2022
Time: 13:00-15:45 (CET) (check your time zone)
The webinar will be held on the Zoom platform in English and simultaneous interpretation will be available to French and Spanish.
