2025 NEQMAP Annual Meeting,8–9 July, UNESCO Bangkok

The Network on Education Quality Monitoring in the Asia-Pacific (NEQMAP) is pleased to announce that its 2025 Annual Meeting will take place from 8 to 9 July 2025 at the UNESCO Regional Office in Bangkok, Thailand, in collaboration with the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation (SEAMEO) Secretariat.

As NEQMAP’s flagship annual event, the meeting will convene member institutions, government officials, education practitioners, researchers, and development partners from across the region. It provides a key opportunity for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and reflection on efforts to strengthen the quality of education and learning outcomes across Asia-Pacific.

Objectives of the 2025 NEQMAP Annual Meeting

The 2025 NEQMAP Annual Meeting will pursue three key objectives:

  • Facilitate knowledge exchange among NEQMAP members by showcasing effective policies, regional tools such as the Southeast Asia Primary Learning Metrics (SEA-PLM), and country-led innovations and case studies on strengthening learning assessment systems.
  • Enhance capacity-building and analytical collaboration within NEQMAP by deepening engagement on priority themes such as equity in learning assessment, digital transformation, and the use of data and evidence to inform policy and system-level reforms.
  • Identify strategic priorities for NEQMAP’s 2026 work program and establish shared modalities for collaboration to accelerate regional progress in education quality monitoring and learning improvement.

Highlights of the Programme

The 2025 NEQMAP Annual Meeting will bring together education stakeholders from across the region for a dynamic program focused on strengthening learning assessment systems. Key features include:

  • Plenary and thematic sessions on priority topics, including education quality monitoring, equity and inclusion in learning assessment, digital innovations, Global Citizenship Education (GCED), and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD);
  • Presentation of draft Topical Case Studies developed by NEQMAP member institutions, highlighting country-led innovations and lessons learned;
  • Interactive opportunities for peer learning and collaboration, fostering cross-country exchange, regional partnerships, and dialogue on emerging research and policy linkages.

We warmly invite NEQMAP member institutions and interested stakeholders from across the Asia-Pacific region to take part in the 2025 NEQMAP Annual Meeting. The meeting will be held in a hybrid format, offering opportunities for both in-person and online participation.

Please note that participation is limited in capacity and subject to selection criteria.

REGISTRATION FORM

NEQMAP members and interested stakeholders are invited to express their interest in presenting at the knowledge-sharing sessions. Presentations need to highlight relevant practices and research for NEQMAP. The length of the presentation is at maximum 10 min. The presentation shall be done in English, with the possibility to use PowerPoints and/or other visualizations.   

CALL FOR PROPOSALS TO PRESENT AT THE KNOWLEDGE-SHARING SESSIONS 

If you are interested in presenting, please fill in the short form (link) by 16 June 2025 at the latest. Presenters will be selected based on the relevance of the presentation to NEQMAP’s priorities.
