As part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), SDG target 4.7 and Global Citizenship Education (GCED) play an important role in enabling all learners to be equipped with relevant competencies for this rapidly changing world to contribute to building a more peaceful, inclusive and sustainable society. In recent years, GCED is receiving growing attention in the Asia-Pacific region, and as a result, many countries have started to integrate GCED into their education systems. But how is GCED integrated and assessed in the Asia-Pacific region? This publication tries to answer the question through sharing examples from Japan, India, the Republic of Korea, and Viet Nam. These cases provide some examples of how to further integrate GCED into respective education systems and strengthen the efforts to assess GCED learning.
