This study examines existing regional-level monitoring/ assessment tools, such as International Civic and Citizenship Education Study (ICCS) and the Southeast Asia Primary Learning Metrics (SEA-PLM). It addresses the possibilities, shortcomings, and implications for measuring global citizenship comptence, as well as the GCED perspective of these tools. It also aims to identify features of local contextualisation of the Global Citizenship Competences (GCC) by surveying country-level monitor/ assessment tools and analysing national curriculum frameworks of selected countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
