Information about the Speaker:

Syeed Ahamed is a public policy analyst and founding CEO of Dhaka-based public policy think tank— Institute of Informatics and Development (IID). For the last ten years, he has led IID’s mission for an informed, inclusive and democratic society. His innovation in research communication, capacity building and policy advocacy models have received Manthan Award, m-Billionth Award and National ICT Award among others. His most recent research projects focus on learning loss, education system resilience and social justice.

He is a Steering Group Member of the Network on Education Quality Monitoring in the Asia-Pacific (NEQMAP); the Co-Chair of a technical working group of the United Nations Network on Migration in Bangladesh; a member of Dhaka Tribune’s Private University Ranking Advisory Committee; and a member of the People’s Action for Learning (PAL) Network.

He has been part of the Bangladesh government’s official delegation to global forums and co-hosted national and regional advocacy initiatives in partnership with different ministries and UN bodies. His alma maters include the University of Dhaka, the Australian National University and the University of Melbourne.
