The ASER survey is an innovative approach to measure children’s learning, first developed in 2005 in rural India and often regarded as the largest citizen-led, annual household survey in education in India. It records whether sampled children between the ages of 3 and 16 are enrolled in school and assesses children aged 5 to 16 orally in basic reading and arithmetic. This is the 2014 national (rural) report. |
